A sizable storm system remains on track to affect the region, brining with it widespread precipitation.

For northern areas, another round of accumulating snowfall is likely, with probabilities of 4 or more inches of snowfall greater than 50 percent over the northern third of the state or so. Greatest snowfall amounts look to remain into Minnesota, but a drift southward over the coming day or so could push snowfall amounts higher over portions of northern Iowa.

As with any snow, travel may be tricky to hazardous at times with snow on roadways and periods of reduced visibilities. Further south, some potential initial snowfall will be replaced by more widespread rain and a few thunderstorms before the system exits late Monday and Tuesday.
