CLEAR LAKE — Local authorities continue their investigation after four people were arrested late Sunday night and early Monday morning on drug-related charges.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department says they were called at about 10:30 Sunday night to the area of 305th Street and Hickory Avenue north of Clear Lake on a suspicious person complaint. After attempting to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 7000 block of 315th Street, the driver, 57-year-old Shawn Hedin of Clear Lake fled on foot and was later apprehended, being charged with driving while barred, interference with official acts, as well as on three other warrants, including for possession of a controlled substance third offense from Floyd County.

41-year-old Edward Sharpe II of Mason City was also arrested at the scene for driving under suspension.

A search warrant was later executed at 7368 315th Street based off of information gathered after the traffic stop. 51-year-old Alena Bangs of Clear Lake was arrested on five Cerro Gordo County arrest warrants. She was also charged with possession of a controlled substance after deputies also allegedly located methamphetamine, marijuana, numerous drug-related paraphernalia and other unknown substances, and a clandestine meth lab.

48-year-old Sherrie Stockdale of Clear Lake was also arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Cerro Gordo County authorities say the case is still under investigation and charges are pending.
