A storm system is expected to cross Iowa with snow beginning late Saturday afternoon over western Iowa, then quickly spreading across the region during the evening and overnight hours. Snow accumulations from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon will reach totals of 4 to 5″ on average with locally higher amounts possible. Winds are expected to remain light during the event. Despite that, travel impacts are likely to occur due to snow covered and slippery roads. Traveling late Saturday or Sunday?  Stay with Star 106 through out the weekend for the latest weather information.
