A widespread snow event is forecast for Friday afternoon into early Saturday across the state. There still remains some uncertainty with respect to overall snowfall totals, but confidence continues to increase on the timing and location of the event. In addition to the widespread snow, blustery north to northeast winds are expected and will likely cause visibility restrictions due to blowing and drifting snow. An Arctic blast of bitter cold temperatures will follow over the weekend. Sub-zero wind chills are anticipated, with many locations dipping as low as 20 to 35 below zero by Saturday night into Sunday morning.
