After scattered non-severe thunderstorms this morning north, heat and humidity will build into much of the area by this afternoon. This will make conditions more favorable for strong to severe thunderstorms triggered by a cold front moving through the state during the late afternoon and early evening hours. The primary threats of these storms would be large hail and damaging winds, and tornadoes to a lesser extent. Any chances for thunderstorms, and especially severe weather, should end by late this evening.
