MASON CITY — An extension has been granted sealing the contents of a search warrant that’s part of the investigation into the disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit. The former KIMT anchorwoman vanished in June 1995 after not showing up for work.
The Mason City Police Department had filed for the warrant in March 2017 for the GPS data from two vehicles owned by John Vansice, an acquaintance of Huisentruit who currently lives in Arizona.
The contents of the warrant were initially sealed. An extension was granted for one year in October of last year, with another one-year extension being granted on September 28th by Magistrate Judge Rolf Aronsen.
Mason City’s police chief Jeff Brinkley has stated that he can’t currently discuss why they wanted the GPS information from those two vehicles in order to maintain the integrity of their investigation.
