❄Moderate To Heavy Snow Possible Thursday Into Friday❄

The middle to latter portions of the week will become quite active with a prolonged off and on period of wintry precipitation, and what looks to be moderate to heavy snowfall amounts over northern Iowa by the end of the work week.

Initially intermittent light wintry precipitation will begin Tuesday night and last off and on right through Wednesday night. This precipitation will generally be light, and in the form of light snow north, light rain, light snow or a wintry mix central, and typically light rain south.

However the most potent part of the system arrives Thursday into Friday when moderate to heavy snow accumulations may occur across the northern half of Iowa, and the best potential for heavy snow over the northern third. This may produce significant travel impacts due to snow covered roads and reduced visibility in blowing snow. Motorists are advised to check on the forecast over the coming days as more details in snowfall amounts, their locations, and severity of impacts are better known.
