Mason City man dead after motorcycle vs. deer collision in Plymouth

PLYMOUTH — A Mason City man is dead after a motorcycle accident over the weekend.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department says they were called to the 1300 block of Broad Street in Plymouth on Sunday morning at about 4:21 AM. On arrival, a deputy discovered an accident involving a motorcyclist who had collided with a deer.
22-year-old Allan Shafer was identified as the motorcyclist. He was traveling northbound on Broad Street when he struck a deer that entered onto the roadway.
Paramedics responded and Shafer was pronounced dead at the scene.
