Mason City man charged with sexual abuse

NORA SPRINGS — Floyd County authorities have charged a Mason City man with sexual abuse.

34-year-old Chris Ott is accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old victim in Nora Springs between April and June of 2010 when Ott was 25 years old. Prosecutors filed the third-degree sexual abuse charge on October 9th, with Ott being arrested on October 14th.

Ott is scheduled to be arraigned in Floyd County District Court on October 28th.

Third-degree sexual abuse is a Class C felony, punishable by up to ten years in prison.
