The revelation comes from an Insider Monkey list of the 10 most-consumed alcoholic drinks in the world.

After beer was wine and liqueur, followed by something called Baijiu, which is plays a prominent role in China’s drinking culture.

Whisky was number five followed by vodka, cider, rum, gin and tequila.
