GARNER — It’s a 25-year prison sentence for a Garner man charged with conspiring to deliver methamphetamine.

38-year-old Troy Johnson was arrested after Garner police executed a search warrant at his home in the 1300 block of State Street on January 18th. Officers allegedly found six grams of meth and a glass meth smoking pipe. Johnson was charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy to deliver or possess with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.

As part of a plea deal with prosecutors, the possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance charge was dismissed, with Johnson pleading guilty to an amended charge of conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver more than five grams of meth.

Johnson received the 25 year prison sentence on Tuesday, but he could be out in a little over four years if he’s eligible for parole.
