MASON CITY — Mason City police say four arrests have been made in connection with a shooting over the weekend on the city’s north side.

Shortly before 2:15 Saturday morning, officers were called to the scene of a possible shooting at Enterprise Alley and Washington Avenue along 12th Northwest. On arrival, officers found bullet casings and blood at the scene.

Since the start of their investigation, the Police Department has served search warrants at two residences and on two vehicles in Mason City, with officers seizing several firearms, narcotics, ammunition, shell casings and other physical evidence related to the investigation. Arrested are:

 

== 18-year-old Donavnan Ward for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a substance in a correctional institution, and unlawful consumption of alcohol. Ward also had a warrant for serious assault from a previous incident

 

== 20-year-old Jonathan Scott for interference with official acts

 

== 26-year-old Mario Garza Junior for carrying weapons

 

== 19-year-old Shyniece Ward on a warrant for failure to appear in court. 

 

Mason City police say at this time it’s still undetermined if anyone was struck by gunfire in Saturday’s incident or if the blood found at the scene was from a physical assault. Police say the investigation remains active and anyone with information about this case should contact the Police Department at 421-3636.
