Ventura Fire Department would like to welcome everyone from North Iowa to join us for our annual Pork Supper at the Fire Station in Ventura this Saturday evening from 4 to 8. This has been a tradition for the community for many years and although things will be a little different this year given the current restrictions put in place due to COVID-19, we want to provide the best meal possible. “In years past we welcomed folks to sit down and enjoy a meal with us,” says Jim Sholly, Firefighter with Ventura, “however, this year we will be providing curbside to-go meals of the same great smoked pork loin visitors have come to expect.” The pork supper, held over the first weekend in August, is Ventura Fire Department’s annual fund raiser with proceeds going to purchase tools and protective equipment for their volunteers. They cover a 48 square mile area around Ventura as well as provide mutual aid to many of the calls for help in Clear Lake. “We pride ourselves on providing the best service possible to North Iowa,” says Sholly, “be that during an emergency response or by inviting the community to share a meal with us.” This year’s supper will be provided curbside at the Ventura Fire Station on Saturday August 8th from 4pm to 8pm.
