Community Health Center of Mason City To Hold Back to School Block Party on 8.10.23
The Community Health Center of Mason City will hold their annual block party August 10th at 404 North Federal Avenue in Mason City in observance of National Health Center Week. The annual event brings awareness of the unique and comprehensive features of our community’s health center to the public, as well as providing needed services, outreach, and resources to the community.
As part of the celebration the health center will provide medical and dental services that kids need for back-to-school. These services include well child checks, immunizations, sports physicals, and dental exams. Other highlights of this year’s back to school block party include a free meal, backpack and school supply distribution from the Salvation Army, kids school shoe distribution from the United Way of North Central Iowa, and many community partners will join the efforts and provide games, activities, giveaways, and useful information for families.
Those seeking medical and dental services can call to make an appointment to be seen between 10 AM and 4 PM or walk-in from 5 pm – 8 pm. Call 641-450-0601 to schedule your appointment. Up to date information can be found on their Facebook event page.
The event is free and open to the public. The activities, shoes, backpacks and meal will all be in the parking lot of Community Health Center of Mason City, while the healthcare services will take place inside the building. A complete list of community participants and activities can be found on their event page on Facebook. Those with questions or those seeking additional information can call Regina Suhrbier, Outreach Coordinator at Community Health Center at 5641-450-0601.
