BLIZZARD to impact north Iowa and Southern Minnesota
Blizzard conditions are forecast to develop over western to northwestern portions of Iowa this evening and spread eastward late in the evening into the overnight hours. The blizzard is anticipated to continue through the day Friday and cover the western half of Iowa. Northwest winds of 30 to 45 mph will be common with gusts up 50 mph possible or even higher at times. The very strong winds coupled with falling snow is going to lead to significantly reduced visibility tonight and through the day Friday. Therefore, a Blizzard Warning is in effect for the western half of the state.
