Sharply colder air is forecast to move into Iowa early next week. New Year’s Eve will see strong NW wind usher in temperatures from 10 below northwest to 18 above southeast for New Year’s Eve. This will drive wind chills across northwestern Iowa to near 30 below with 5 below expected southeast. This is some of the coldest wind chills yet this season. On Wednesday the wind will not be as strong and temperatures will not be as cold so wind chill values will be closer to 10 to 20 below zero northwest Wednesday morning. The rest of the week will see a warm up.
