Saturday marks 20 years since nearly 3,000 people were killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States – and authorities still haven’t identified all the bodies found in the wreckage of the World Trade Center.
The remains of about 1,100 victims have yet to be matched with names, according to the New York City Coroner’s Office.
That’s about 40 percent of the people who died on that tragic day. Earlier this week, DNA testing found matches for two of the victims, bringing the number of identified people to 1,647.
